My experience - Tourist visa as Indian national in the US

Filled up the UK visa form and paid the fees for 6months tourist visa ($131).

Opted to get my biometrics done at USCIS center (for free).

Mailed the application and all relevant paperwork for both my wife and me, in the same envelope with one return label. Added a brief cover letter stating that same. This was on Wednesday.

Packet was delivered on Friday.

VFS in NYC sent the packed to the embassy on Monday.

Got the VFS notification on Friday that we will get our passports by Tuesday (they don’t tell you whether visa was approved or not).

Passports delivered on Tuesday with visas stamped in them, valid for multiple entries, for 6months.

Pretty seamless experience getting passports back to us in under two weeks.
