Why do so many people hate Singed?

On their own team? I've been getting multiple raging babies trying to convince me Singed is a "useless champion" and "only good in iron". I just checked and he's litteraly in top 10 top laners right now in Diamond + Elo. Why do people hate gas daddy on their own team? He's a formidable team player, no?
