Naval Patrol Bombers are kinda nice actually.
Now dont get me wrong, the classic one torpedo and engine combo for small airframes is nice, but I have recently found myself making the Naval Patrol Bombers. In my past 2 games messing with them, I have found a few fun traits they have and will share them.
1) Naval Patrol Bombers can hold 3 torpedos. This means they have a decent amount of power to them.
2) Naval Patrol Bombeds have a wing size of 10. This means its relatively really easy to get a full wing of them and then another. And the another. And then remember about them and you can throw down 10 full airwings. This also makes it so they are less intensive on airbases as 20 airwings fit per level.
3) Range. Naval Patrol Bombers (being large airframes) get some nice range and this can easily be buffed to make it so you can Port Strike Hawaii from many of the islands in the Pacific or cover many of the large sea zones easily.
4) Naval Patrol Bombers can lead to a lot of ships taking either small chip damage or being sunk by the vessels when at sea.
In conclusion, the Naval Patrol Bomber aircraft are some nice planes. They might not be meta or anything and might be more expensive per torpedo than small frames, but might be a nice idea to make in some games when you can really start throwing dozens of wings out to sink ships without having as many planes needed to do so.
