Mother and Daughter
The daughter helped her mother out of the wheelchair and onto the commode. It was the fourth time that she had been roused from her sleep that night, her mother unable to walk after a stroke had left her paralyzed on her left side. The daughter grumbled inaudibly as she waited outside the bathroom door. When her mother was done, she went inside to clean her mother and lift her onto the wheelchair. As they neared the bedroom, the smell of faeces rose sharply in the air. The daughter looked down on the floor, and silently cursed her mother.
