Some positivity. Great teaching experience, what are the best teaching experiences you've had?
Just writing this as an antidote to all the negativity around these days.
Was shadowing a consultant today (taster day) He grilled me on liver anatomy, the french gauge system, physics and parathyroid physiology. Needless to say I got most things wrong and he friggin ripped me for it. But do you know what? I absolutely loved every minute of it, even when he told me I should ask my uni for a refund 😂
He was challenging me, stretching me and taking the piss, but it was clearly all in good humour and you could tell he was actually a kind man and a great doctor.
I love consultants like this, keep doing your thing ladies and gents, challenge us juniors but do it with love. He might have even rekindled the love for medicine that was almost extinguished.
What are your best teaching experiences?
