Choice benefits time.

I have never selected regional or global upgrade certificates.. I have zero experience with them. Are they easy to use, readily available, and should I take all regional or take both? I do plan on a Europe trip later this year. I know this is Reddit, but a simple yes or no will suffice, or a one sentence explanation I am a diamond so I will be making other selections as well.
