Are electronic Shifting Di2 105 bikes worth it for maintenance free cycling?
Meaning no cables to replace or lube or adjustments to be made when cables stretch etc
Do these Di2 shift perfect everytime regardless of use and age?
A maintenance free option on shifting would be the main reason for me to get a wireless shifting bicycle maybe even SRAM electronic shifting
But I have no experience with this. I cycle 7000 miles a year commuting to work
I maintain my own bike and would love to reduce the amount of stuff I need to do especially with replacing cables and barrel adjuster etc I also do want a disc brake bike with all internal cable routing for that clean look and honesty avoiding anything cable wise in internal routing would be a major concern for me.
I already spend enough time taking apart bearings to service etc with all this Wet Rainy season riding
I spent all my life with mechanical and when I was younger and had more patience and free time it was fun but now I want to have to spend less time on these stuff, the idea of perfect electronic shifting everytime without having to maintain any cables etc sounds like a dream for me.
I bet the effort required to shift the front derailleur must be so soft and nice compared to any mechanical
