28 Weeks Results

M 52y.o. Started carnivore at 343.6 lbs (156kg) on 07/09/2024. I was a Type 2 diabetic not taking any medicine. That day my Blood Glucose was at 363 and A1C was 10.5. BP had been creeping up as well to as high as 150/90. I knew that in order to continue to live I would have to take corrective action as this was a long worsening situation. It was either medicine (I have only heard of people who got sicker, but slower, with medicine), or fixing how I ate - which is the source of the problem.

Now after 28 weeks completed, very little off-plan, I am at 255 lbs (116kg) so lost almost 90 lbs (40 kg) so far and still a good bit to go. BG this a.m. was 89, and A1C is 5.2. Recently measured BP at 109/67. In fact, within 60 days my average BG was 94 and A1C was 6.6. For first 60 days, I found a CGM to be very helpful. But then it was just boring watching my BG just stay the same all the time so I stopped. I still check it regularly though. Recent CAC scan came in at 0, thankfully.

I have not been exercising particularly routinely or intensely, but I find my level of activity and desire to exercise has necessarily increased thanks to the extra energy and vitality I have been gaining.

All glory and accolades to God for allowing me to find, believe and follow this way of eating. After 2 weeks I had a week of feeling very tired and weak, added extra salt to diet and fluids and it made it easier. After that week, I felt amazing and no sign of Keto-Flu since. So stick with it.

I have had some of the ups and downs others have had, but it has been a really great journey. I have tracked weight meticulously and I find that 40% of my daily weigh-ins have gains and 60% of my weigh-ins have loss. So don't be a slave to the scale. The body and its systems prioritize the healing in ways I do not need to know.

Just wanted to make this post to encourage others as others have encouraged me with their stories. Thank You to all of you for posting your results, processes, and stories. Furthermore, I am grateful to the many YouTube influencers, doctors, and researchers that have shared knowledge with the world. The healing goes much deeper than weight and blood glucose. So stick with it even when you are having a rough go. It is worth it to stick around for current family members, friends and to be there to meet and love future family members as well.
