What insects are legal to own as pets?

Hi! I’m considering picking up a hobby in insect care and I’ve been having a hard time finding information on which bugs are legal and which aren’t? I’ve heard that stick bugs, leaf bugs, millipedes, and even some beetles are restricted or illegal but I can’t find where this information is from to verify?

Any help in finding where this is listed or where to call would be a great help! Thanks! (Note: I’m not looking to own spiders, I’m mainly seeking beetles/isopods!)
