Beaches in North Carolina

PLEASE ignore my ignorance! I am from Maryland I a need a break from life! I want to plan a trip to north Carolina (wilmington) next weekend and I canot find anything about water temperatures. I love swimming but I would be so upset to see that the water was too cold. I can also tolerate cold water and have before for a good swim. As long as the water isnt ICE, i can do it. Would it be reccomended to go now or wait?
