Finn and Clarke
Today, I finished the first two seasons and am completely broken because of Finn’s story. He was my favorite character from the very first episode. His death, and the way it happened, left me in tears with a broken heart. I’m so mad at Clarke because of her silence every time Finn told her how much he loved her. The beauty of his words when he said, “I love you,” and then added, “I’m in love with you,” made such a huge difference.
I’m angry because everything that happened to Finn happened because of Clarke. He was so devastated when he saw the watch around the enemy’s neck—a watch that Clarke’s father had given to her and was so important to her. When Finn saw it, he believed the enemy had killed her. That moment shattered him. He spent days and nights searching for her, always ready to die if it meant she would be okay. In the end, it happened exactly that way—he did die for her.
The one thing I’m not mad at Clarke for is that before killing Finn, she kissed him and told him that she loved him. I really needed that moment, and I think Finn did too.
I loved them as a couple, but what I loved even more was how deeply Finn loved Clarke and how brave he was.
