Lucy in 1 season

Today, I finished watching Season 1 of Tell Me Lies, and I feel like I need to share my thoughts in the hope that someone out there feels the same way.

Surprisingly, I dislike Lucy even more than Stephen. Throughout almost every episode, her behavior frustrated and angered me. She’s just as much of a liar as Stephen, if not worse in some ways. While their flaws are different, there were moments when she felt more toxic than anyone else.

Lucy acts as though she’s the only one who has the right to judge other people’s feelings or actions. What she did to Drew absolutely infuriated me—it was so heartless. And her actions with Evan? Equally enraging. She was lying to everyone around her, constantly manipulating situations to suit herself.

Her selfishness knows no bounds, and in my eyes, she’s just as emotionally unhealthy as Stephen. One thing that really stood out to me was how incapable she is of confronting her real issues. For example, when Max pointed out that she might be dealing with depression, instead of acknowledging it or seeking help, she chose to end their relationship and completely cut him off.

Lucy clearly can’t handle criticism or hearing anything negative about herself, and that makes her even harder to sympathize with.
