Where do I start? 22F

Hello All! I wanted to share my story and see if anyone related to it, and to see if anyone had any advice to offer as well. I am a 22F who has experienced many many fainting experiences in my lifetime. This is going to be a long post, but if you’re feeling froggy; I invite you to read it. Not all experiences will be included in this post… My most memorable experiences will.

  • When I was 6-7 years old I fainted while my dad was wrapping Christmas presents. I remember feeling woozy, walking up to him to tell him I didn’t feel well. I fainted and smacked my head against a baseboard. I was rushed to the hospital. I needed 6 stitches, blood work, and various heart imaging. They said it was low blood sugar and didn’t find anything concerning so I was sent home.
  • The next spring, I passed out during recess. We were coming inside. It was a hot day. Just as I entered the building WHAM I was out. School nurse said it was low blood sugar and heat exhaustion.
  • When I was 8 my sister and I went to get our ears pierced. I got mine done first and watched her get hers done and again WHAM I was out on the floor of the mall. Peed all over myself and my mom had to cart me around in a stroller.
  • This same year I passed out during recess where a teacher literally caught me in her arms. (Third grade) after this incident the teachers stop letting me go outside on hot days. I was essentially a “pudding cup kid”

  • Over the next few years fainting during vaccines and finger pricks became the normal for me. It was super embarrassing. I began avoiding them at all costs.

  • When I was 13 I fainted off a back of a four wheeler after getting wet and cold from the snow. This same year I started experiencing Raynauds (my fingers turn paper white in cold temperatures)

  • When I was 20 I fainted during blood work and again urinated on myself. EMS said I was fine. This was mortifying!!!

Well let me just say… there have been several other incidents besides these, but these ones were the most mortifying…. To say the least. Well up until an incident that happened a few weeks ago.

I was giving a presentation during a college course and I started feeling woozy. I had to stop the presentation dead in its tracks. I looked at my classmates and my professor and said “hey this is gonna be weird but I’m about to faint” freaked everyone out. They had me sit down. My professor told me to go to the couch in her office and lay down. Apparently I agreed because that was the last thing I remembered. Next thing I know I’m looking up at her screaming. I was laying by the door of the classroom among a mess of a desk and couple chairs. THIS WAS SO EMBARRASSING.

Anyways… it’s more likely to happen when I’m not feeling well or if I’m stressed. I’ve even fainted while deer hunting after I had the flu. (Last year). I’m not diabetic, wasn’t ever found to have a heart issue… but doesn’t this seem excessive?

My mom says I over think it but it’s been 16 years of fainting and being afraid of fainting.

What do yall think?
