{Lord of Scoundrels by Loretta Chase} was completely worth the hype

I don't even know where to begin with how much I loved this book. I don't know why I waited to long to read this, but I finally did it and it was incredible. This was my first book by Loretta Chase and I can't wait to read more from her. I loved the writing, the romance, the characters, the story and just about everything. It's now one of my all time favourite HRs and tbh romances in general.

The story was so much fun and I loved the romance and Jessica and Dain's chemistry. They were great together and apart too tbh. At first, I was worried that the hero was a bit too much of a piece of shit when his abandoned bastard son was first mentioned. After we found out about his existence, I thought that he wouldn't be mentioned again and that his son would just be out in the world with his mother and never to come up again in the story. I was so happy that was not the case because I'm not sure I could get on board with an MMC that abandons his child. I've read HRs before where the MMC had a bastard child, but the child was either dead or living with the MMC. I loved the storyline with his child and if you have similar recs with something similar, please throw them my way since I haven't read many where the hero has a bastard child.

Jessica was amazing and I would love to read more FMCs like her in HRs. If you have any recs with FMCs like her please throw them my way, I loved how smart and competent she was. She was not innocent and timid. She was brave, always stood up for herself and was simply an incredible heroine.

Dain was pretty much the type of MMC I love too. I love an emotionally fucked up man in my romances lol. I loved seeing his growth by the end and how much he loved the heroine and again, if you have any recs with similar MMCs please throw them my way.

I really liked how the secondary characters were fairly involved in the story and even though they didn't have a lot of time on the page, I thought they were all very well written and developed. I was also very intrigued by some of the secondary characters and I'm very excited that some of them have their own books. I'll be definitely reading them in the future.

Anyway, I loved this so much and if you have any recs that are similar to this one, I'd love to hear them.
