The myth of "Beginner Pets"
This may be controversial, but there is no such thing as a "beginner pet" at least in the way we use it. There may be animals much easier to take care of than others, but that does not give reason to neglect them or not do proper research. I see parents buying their child an animal as a "test," and when the pet is neglected, no one steps in. Furthermore, these parents buy many "beginner pets" are not easy to fill their needs all, such as hamsters, reptiles, birds, and fish. Living animals are not something we should use as experiments. Every animal, big and small, deserves proper research, money, and quality time. We all make mistakes, but using an animals life to soley "gain experience" needs to stop.
