How does your narc answer questions?

If you ask your narc a serious question, how do they answer? Do they ever just… tell you “I don’t know” or “I don’t remember” as their only answer and then essentially refuse to say anything else?

Edit for clarification: When you ask them a question in an effort to address something they did or try to learn more about something that happened/their behavior.
