Is bowed double bass ever used in jazz?

Plucked or pizzcato bass is the most common, but I wonder if anyone has used a bow while playing bass, either for the normal bass stuff or solos. I also wonder if any other string instruments other than the common ones are every used, plucked or otherwise.
