Books about summoning demons to battle each other

Please suggest me books about people summoning demons to fight each other. Like kingdoms fighting each other with their heroes having special abilities to summon these powerful demons. Basically like pokemon but for adults. I prefer non YA novels. Also I like it dark and brutal. Thanks guys.
