Strahd Zombie alternatives?

The Strahd Zombie's Loathsome Limbs trait seems like a real hassle to keep track of when considering that the players can easily encounter 10+ of these zombies in an encounter.

Has someone redesigned the stat block or used an alternative undead monster to replace the Strahd Zombie's role in Barovia?
