Congratulations, Ohio Residents - next month you'll pay 8 times more for the same work by your state employees!
Last night we did an evening software deployment. Not anything you as residents use, this is entirely internal. Just a minor bug fix, but since we were in there, we went ahead and applied some server patches that were ready, too.
Took us 30 minutes.
The trouble is, after March 17th, work exactly like this that I could do at home I'll have to do at the office because the Governor decided working from anywhere except an office isn't as productive. Work required that does not abut my usual shift is what's called a call-back. A call back carries a four-hour-minimum of pay. Which is an additional cost on all of us, dear fellow taxpayers.
Seem stupid? Call your statehouse rep, senator (lookup tool for their information: https://www.legislature.ohio.gov/members/district-maps), and the governor's office (https://governor.ohio.gov/contact) and tell them so.
