Moving back to Chicago- Thoughts on Lemont?
Hello everyone,
I am moving back to Chicago with my wife and three young kids (8,6,3) and we want to be in the Southwest suburbs so we can be near family in Lisle, Aurora, and Beverly.
We keep coming back to Lemont as my wife has friends who grew up there and speak well of it. We also like the good schools, small town feel (e.g. the high school has less than 1,000 kids), and the fact that you can get a 4 bedroom house with a decent yard for under $1 million (I say that as a scorned homebuyer).
We would be very appreciative if you could share your thoughts on the following:
-Private School Options- Any recommendations? I see St. Pat's & St. Al's as options.
-Commute- I will be commuting into my office downtown 5 days a week! I see there are three trains (6,6:30, 7:30-ish) in the morning and three at night. Do local Lemont people take these trains? Will I be upset that I don't live along the BNSF? What happens if you miss a train? Is driving realistic?
-Restaurants/Nightlife: I see downtown as some good restaurants for a casual night out. Where do locals go if you want something more formal?
-Rec Center/ Youth Sports: Thoughts?
Thanks in advance!
