What Counts as “Canadian”?
I’m curious - I want to avoid American products wherever possible. They’ve decided we’re no longer friends and I’m good with it.
But what counts? I buy an almond milk owned by Danone, but through their Canadian subsidiary, and made in canada. Does that count as Canadian? I’m having a hard time drawing a line.
Some things are easy: Heinz can eat shit, French’s til I die. Steamwhistle (or craft beers) over Budweiser. But there is some uncertainty. Ford uses Canadian labour at times, but isn’t a Canadian company. Tim Hortons franchisees live here, but the parent company isn’t Canadian.
