Is the Pizitz dead?
I went in yesterday for Unos Tacos. It was a Tuesday, sure, but it was dead. Half of the booths are empty, and that anchor spot has been empty since I moved here. Friends tell me of this buzzing, lively joint of what it used to be, and it’s just not that anymore. After some research, it seems the company that owns it, Centennial (or something) is trying to sell it for some exorbitant amount north of $30 million. It’s like they’ve just left it to rot in the meantime
Do we think there’s any hope - or desire - to save the Pizitz? Is this the way it’s always been and my friend just remember it more fondly?
If you think it’s salvageable, what would it take to renew public interest? If the city bought it back, or someone who cared, and pumped some TLC money into it, could it be restored? Does it need a good anchor concept - or just something in there in general?
