Feeding Challenges in Rescue Cats How Do You Handle Them?

For those who have rescued or fostered cats, have you noticed that some cats struggle with mealtime? I’ve seen cases where rescued cats either overeat due to past food insecurity or barely eat at all because they’re anxious in a new environment.

Some rescues also have trouble with food aggression when living with other cats, making mealtime stressful. I’d love to hear from others who have worked with rescue cats what are your go-to strategies to create a calm and structured feeding routine?

Do you separate them? Use slow feeders? What’s worked best for making sure all cats get the right amount of food without stress or competition?

Would love to hear your experiences and advice!
