why read fanfics if you're searching for canon?
Genuinely got more annoyed than sad when I got these two hate comments. It's like they forgot the entire reason of reading on ao3 is to read the way random writers would warp characters to the way they understood them. And these are about characters that were barely written in canon ✋😭
If you want canon characters, go read the books then? I don't understand why you're searching for canon in ao3. And they posted this comment on a fic that /would not have worked/ if I didn't take my own creative liberties with it. The main ship are from two different timelines, they would have never been together if fanfic writers didn't write it themselves. Sharp as a marble, that one.
