10 months post op
Hey there! I(28F) joined this sub early in my ACL surgery recovery with allograft. I’m glad this option was available to me in Florida and the pain went away quickly. I recommend it as I believe the pros far outweigh the possible risks.
Today I’m exactly 10 months post op! My knee is not 100% but my surgeon said it takes a 1.5 years to fully heal. He did not permit me to jump or run until 9 months post op. My legs are still unbalanced strength wise but continue to improve. Leg extensions for quad are my top priority. I still go to a PT every few months and they measure strength difference which is cool! I went almost 1.5 years knowing my ACL was torn and having a not yet fully healed one now is a much, much better feeling.
This video is a skill I used to be able to do but haven’t in over 2+ years until last week!!
Hope this helps someone. It’s a long recovery but hang in there, it gets better and medicine has come an amazing way for knee surgeries!
