Day 2 post op
I have to say, my surgeon rocks.
I was told it was going to be hell. Especially the first night and I specifically bought a recliner per a PT friend’s recommendation. First night was totally fine. Took my Vicodin just in case and have been icing. Have had my leg elevated pretty well and was doing ankle exercises before I was told I needed to be doing them. I wasn’t completely out of shape when I fully tore my ACL with a meniscus tear. Went to PT today and my therapist was shocked that I was not only smiling and happy, but that I had minimal swelling.
I hope it continues to go well in recovery. I’m also a very active person and was pretty devastated when I tore my ACL. I started doing chair yoga by PagodaYoga Inc and a workout routine by NourishMoveLove on YouTube a month before surgery (approved by surgeon and PT). I don’t know if this helped me before, but wanted to pass along my process in case it may help anyone else about to have surgery.
Blacked out areas in my photo that would be recognizable.
