Can't install touchpad driver
I recently bought an ASUS TUF Gaming FX505GM and installed a legal copy of Windows 10 on it. I'm used to the touchpad always having problems at first, on my last laptop I had to roll back the touchpad drivers for it to work especially while gaming, I couldn't turn while pressing down a key etc, usual problems.
With this laptop I can't seem to update the driver though. The cursor keeps jumping between positions, when in-game (any game) I have to click multiple times for it to register, can't turn properly, right click registers as left click and vice versa, it's just obvious that this isn't how it should be. I've read and watched a ton of reviews of this laptop and none of them ever mentioned problems with the trackpad, plus it's a gaming laptop, duh.
The update driver, search for drivers on the official Windows website or on my computer turn up no results even after downloading the precision touchpad driver for my laptop from the Asus website.
I run the installer as Administrator and nothing. This is where it stops
The driver's readme does say "Note: please install Intel Serial driver before installing Touchpad driver". Now there is a SerialIO folder in the driver's folder so I tried installing the setup information files in it and then install the touchpad driver but nothing.
I also looked for this Intel Serial driver online and installed what I found on Intel's website but it didn't help either. I'm kind of lost here, now, I have no idea what else I could do. The laptop functions well otherwise but how am I ever going to place mid-bronze in Overwatch like this :< I'm not particularly tech-savvy but something tells me this shouldn't be this difficult. I've googled my problem in many many ways and so far haven't found a solution. Any help would be appreciated, thank you!
